Description
WHAT IS IT
A Buck Converter (higher to lower fixed voltage) that has dual USB power sockets
WHAT IS IT USED FOR
Charging mobiles, powerbanks etc
Powering any USB project
HOW DO I USE IT
Supply a DC voltage between 6V to 40V.
USB Sockets offer 5V at up to 3A total, but 2A prolonged
Perfect to run off a car or leisure battery.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION
Very low power standby, typically less than 100 micro amps
150KHz Switching Frequency
3A output current absolute maximum
Google LM2596 Datasheet for detailed performance characteristics of the converter
Short circuit protection
57mm x 18mm x 20mm
7mm overhang from board to socket flange
Weighs 18g
OBSERVATIONS
At 0.5A it stabilises at 36degC after 5 minutes, dropping to 4.95V, 2.48W. It draws 0.25A from 12.7V, 3.17W = 78% efficiency.
At 1A it stabilises at 49degC after 5 minutes, dropping to 4.92V, 4.92W. It draws 0.5A from 12.6V, 6.3W = 78% efficiency.
At 2A it stabilises at 79degC after 5 minutes, dropping to 4.86V, 9.6W. It draws 1.1A from 12.5V, 13.75W = 69% efficiency.
Nice simple screw terminals for attaching input power cables. No soldering required.

SUPPORT
My support is second to none. Check my feedback. I will gladly help you before or after purchase. I love power supplies!
I’ll refund you if it’s faulty or return it working if it doesn’t perform as you expect.
Be careful with clone UK suppliers – the ones with all the same photos – they’re quite often drop-shippers who have no idea what they’re selling – just check their feedback. You won’t get any meaningful support from them.
