Description
WHAT IS IT
A step down converter.
It will convert a higher DC voltage into a stable lower DC voltage
The output voltage will be stable even if the input varies.
WHAT IS IT USED FOR
Taking a high voltage power supply and converting it into a lower voltage
Keeping an output voltage stable when the input can vary
HOW DO I USE IT
Setup is with an Volt meter on the output.
Solder/clamp your input to the IN + and –
Put a voltage meter across OUT + and –
Turn the constant voltage setting (CV) pot to get the voltage you require. Clockwise higher.
If the output voltage is the same as the input voltage, turn CV anti-clockwise until it starts to fall.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION
Input Voltage 4V to 35V DC
Output Voltage 1.3 to 30V DC
Output Current 2A (3A Max) depends on voltages, but lower than max spec because no heatsink
Up to 90% efficient – depends on voltages and current
Thermal shutdown and current-limit protection
See LM2596S datasheet for full specifications
43mm x 22mm x 14mm
OBSERVATIONS
12V 0.53A 6.4W in = 5V 1A 5W out 48degC after 10 mins – 78% efficiency
12V 1.13A 13.5W in = 5V 2A 10W out 85degC after 10 minutes – 74% efficiency

SUPPORT
My support is second to none. I will gladly help you before or after purchase. I love power supplies!
I’ll gladly refund you if it’s faulty or you can return it working if it doesn’t perform as you expect.
Be careful with clone UK suppliers – they’re quite often drop-shippers who have no idea what they’re selling – just check their feedback.
